“Either fundamentally misunderstands our constitution or he’s just lying”

Now here’s a closer look at the legal battle mounting over what could be the nation’s first religious charter school. Back in June, the state Virtual Charter School Board voted to Greenlight St. Isidor. By late July, a lawsuit against the school came down, claiming it violated separation of church and state, among other legal issues. Erin Brewer is part of the group suing. “It appears to us that Ryan Walters, bless his heart, either fundamentally misunderstands our constitution or he’s just lying,” Brewer says. St. Isidor would violate Oklahoma’s rights by allowing the government to impose religion.
